Pack of 5 seeds of this fairly hardy bulbous plant.

Found in a relatively small area of the Cape Floral Kingdom, this is one of the smaller Gladiolus species, attaining no more than 35cm in height even when in flower.
Shown in habitat demonstrating the diminutive nature of the plant and the relatively poor soils it is found in

The flowers are carried on short spikes and are generally orange/brown marked with yellow/green, the normal number of florets being 5. These are fragrant, throughout the day. As with many of Cape bulbs the flowering period varies amongst the populations and can occur immediately before or after the spring rains. In the northern hemisphere it is most likely to be a late spring flowering plant. .

Easy from seed, it can be sown at most times of the year, but in the Northern Hemisphere, a late summer/ early Spring sowing under glass will yield the best results. As with all Gladioli, it will produce numerous offsets when the corms are mature. These can be used to further increase your stock.
