Musa thomsonii - Thomson's Banana

This listing is for 10 seeds.

A large hardy banana, related to Musa cheesmanii and at least as hardy. It grows to 5 metres tall and has reddish-black coloured pseudostems. It comes from from foothills of the Himalayas, where colder conditons are not uncommon. The pseudostems are densely clustering. The leaf is deep green above with a dark midrib and purple red on the underside. Due to its clustering nature, it can quickly become a stunning specimen if grown as a houseplant.

It is hardy in Zones 7 to 10, so is a candidate for many sheltered temperate gardens and makes a striking, fast growing specimen.

Full growing instructions can be found in my shop, the link to this on my Me page.
