Pack of 12 seeds of this plant.

This is an easy to grow bush/tree, which can easily be brought into flower and indeed produce fruit when grown as a container specimen, bonsai or houseplant. Known by many common names, it is the Spanish who named it Grenade or Granada which give a clue as to one of its many uses - to produce the sweet cordial Grenadine.

The plants are deciduous and flower in the Spring. The branches bear long thorns and, although sharp, they are not particularly robust. The plants are attractive throughout most of the year, the young foliage being flushed red, the striking red flowers that are followed by the fruit in the late summer, early autumn and the glossy green leaves that are carried until late Autumn.

Surprisingly hardy down to Zone 6 (15 Deg F), the plant can be grown outdoors over a wide area. Also useful as a houseplant and adapts easily as a Bonsai.
