Sesamothanmnus lugardii - Transvaal Sesame

This listing is for 5 seeds of this odd succulent plant.

This is another naturally occurring bonsai tree, which has a thickened succulent rootstock and spiny stems. It has peeling bark and the overall effect is like that of a miniature baobab tree. It produces large white trumpet like flowers, which are followed by a heart shaped woody seed capsule. Very long lived and ultimately slow growing, however it will grow fairly quickly in the first 10 years allowing a good specimen to be developed before the growth slows right down.

Responding well to pruning, it can be turned quickly into a spectacular indoor bonsai tree in cooler climates or a useful addition to a water conserving garden where there are no frosts.

It is easy to grow and cultivate. Easy to germinate following the instructions located at this link.
